Since 2020, the SNCPT is mandated by the CNIPT every fortnight to establish fair quotations for fresh potatoes.
The history of the Potato Brokers Syndicate
– The National Union of Commercial Agents in Potatoes and Onions and
– The National Union of Potato Brokers,
merged with the principal mission of defending the interests of contracts between producers and sellers. The new union then took the name of the National Union of Potato and Onion Trade Intermediates.
The union includes 26 companies and Francis Vaquié was elected President
The SNCPT is a member organization of the National Interprofessional Potato Committee (CNIPT), whereby two members of the SNCPT sit permanently on its Board of Directors and the members of the union attend each committee organized by the CNIPT with the aim of promoting the potato industry forward.
Since then… the SNCPT publishes a market editorial in each issue of Potato Planet.
The National Union of Potato Brokers
The mission of the National Interprofessional Potato Syndicate is to defend the interests of brokers and to represent brokers within interprofessional potato entities (CNIPT, FFSCM, etc.)
To this end, management and decision-making are collegial and the office is elected every three years. At each meeting, a secretary is appointed to report the minutes of the meeting.

the SNCPT is represented in many inter-professions to build and promote the potato industry.
The CNIPT is the interprofessional organization recognized by the French public authorities in the ware potato sector (conservation and early produce), sold on the fresh vegetables market.
Its missions concern in particular:
- Intimate knowledge of supply and demand
- Product quality and the establishment of technical standards, research and development programs
- Information relating to sectors and products and their promotion on internal and external markets.
As a public utility establishment, it ensures the representation of Accredited Commodity Brokers (CMA) who have taken an oath before the Courts of Appeal.
This association brings together national institutions as well as companies involved in the trading of seed potatoes, seedlings or versatile ware potatoes from Europe.
